Profile of Colin Mann

In 1976 employed as a designer with ADAM Design Agency. Over the following 2 years I worked on the design and implementation of corporate identities for clients such as Mazda, Castrol, Afship, SAPPI and Gallo. I also worked on promotions for clients BMW, Coca-Cola, Beechams, Cadburys and S.A. Breweries.

Five years later, I joined MWM Advertising as Creative Director. Over the following six years I specialised in promotional and corporate design work for clients: BMW, Colgate Palmolive, Tiger Foods (Dogmor, Quaker Oats and Tastic), L’oreal, Smithkline, Vista Homes, Holiday Inns, Southern Suns and S.A Breweries.

I985 I won a SPADA Award for client Datapoint. (Best Advertising Campaign).

In 1987 I formed a new agency with 2 partners, The Design Project. As Creative Director my portfolio included above and below the line advertising for clients: IGI Insurance, The Fedics Group, Laminated Industries (P.G. Bison and Formica), Adcock-Ingram, Sun International, Holiday Inns, Budget Rent a Car, City Lodge and Singapore Airlines.

1992 I won a SPADA Award for client Sun International (Best Sales Incentive)

In 1994 I setup my own studio, mann@work, offering advertising and design services directly to clients. I have now been on my own for fifteen years during which time I have produced work for: The Softline Group, Rentokil, The Ikwezi Group, Knoll Pharmaceuticals, Panasonic, Mikes Kitchen, Software Connection, Midas, BMW, Pizza Hut, KFC, Fedics, Debonairs, Minolta and ABSA.

My creative strengths include corporate design, ad campaigns, promotions, CAD illustration, video editing and website design. I am also a trained and experienced Mac DTP operator/editor utilising Freehand, In-Design, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and SiteGrinder.

I have done recent contract work in Lagos for Lowe Lintas and The Firehouse agencies producing work for Conoil, Glo, Heineken, Coke, Nigerian Breweries and EXP.
